Israel has ‘narrowed down’ list of Iran targets – NBC
Unnamed officials have informed NBC News that the Jewish state could launch a retaliatory attack “at any time.”

According to the report, Israel has identified potential military and infrastructure targets in Iran and may execute a retaliatory strike as soon as this weekend, based on information from anonymous US and Israeli officials.

While Israel has not made a conclusive decision on whether to target Iran’s nuclear facilities or carry out specific assassinations, US officials believe there is “no indication” that West Jerusalem is prepared to go that far.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated following a missile barrage fired by Tehran against Israel on October 1, which was reportedly in response to the deaths of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, as well as an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps general.

Iran asserts that its missiles were aimed solely at military targets, with no recorded Israeli civilian casualties, although a Palestinian man was reportedly killed by missile debris.

In the wake of the Iranian missile attack, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant indicated that Israel's response would be “deadly, pinpoint accurate, and surprising.”

Some Israeli officials have suggested severe retaliatory strikes, including against Iranian nuclear facilities. However, the US is working to ensure that any response remains limited to prevent wider conflict in the region.

A source in Tehran, familiar with the situation, stated that Iran is “fully prepared to defend itself” and retaliate against any Israeli attack, asserting that the response would be “proportionate.” The source warned that if West Jerusalem were to target Iran’s oil infrastructure, Tehran would retaliate by attacking Israel’s oil refineries. Additionally, strikes on other infrastructure, such as power plants or nuclear sites, would similarly provoke retaliatory actions against corresponding Israeli facilities.

Tehran has cautioned West Jerusalem against undertaking any disproportionate escalatory actions. The source noted that should an Israeli attack injure civilians, Iran may reconsider its nuclear policy, although no further details were provided.
