Residents in cities like Haifa, Nazareth, Afula, and the lower Galilee regions were alerted around 1:10 am local time, reports indicate from the Jerusalem Post.
The IDF communicated via a post on X, stating, “around 10 launches” occurred from Lebanese territory with most rockets being successfully intercepted.
One missile reportedly landed in the vicinity of Nazareth. In a related incident, a 60-year-old man sustained minor shrapnel injuries in the Lower Galilee, MDA, Israel’s emergency medical and disaster response agency, confirmed.
Meanwhile, according to Sara A. Carter's tweet, thousands of Israeli reservists have been summoned for immediate duty, with Nazareth experiencing rocket impacts.
A spokesperson from Hezbollah told Al Mayadeen, a Lebanese TV channel, that they targeted the Ramat David Airbase in Israel with several Fadi-1 and Fadi-2 rockets as a reactionary measure against previous Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon.
This exchange is part of the ongoing conflicts where Hezbollah continues its attacks as an act of solidarity with Hamas in Gaza.
The IDF reported that it conducted strikes on approximately 180 Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon on Saturday, annihilating numerous launcher barrels poised for immediate use. Israeli airstrikes also targeted a suburb in Beirut on Friday, resulting in the fatalities of several high-ranking Hezbollah leaders. Lebanese officials counted 37 fatalities in these events.
“We will continue operating against Hezbollah until we achieve our mission: ensuring the safe return of Israel’s northern communities to their homes,” stated Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Friday.
The offensive has drawn criticism from UN representatives, Russia, and China for its broad impact.
