24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is finding his rhythm in South Florida after a slow start to 2025.

The World No. 5 from Serbia, aiming for his seventh Miami Open title, defeated American Sebastian Korda 6-3, 7-6 on Thursday in a quarter-final match that was delayed from Wednesday. The match lasted one hour and 24 minutes.

At 37 years and 10 months, Djokovic has become the oldest ATP Masters 1000 semi-finalist since the series began in 1990, surpassing Roger Federer, who reached the semi-finals in Indian Wells and Miami at 37 years and seven months in 2019.

Djokovic is now set to face Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinals on Friday. He holds a record of 12-1 against the 33-year-old Dimitrov, who reached the tournament final in 2024.

Having won all six of his titles at the tournament when it was held in Key Biscayne, Djokovic is also pursuing his 100th professional title.

"I'm getting great support," Djokovic stated. "I feel I have a really good chance to go all the way here... I'm playing the best I have in some time."

In a separate quarter-final match later on Thursday, third-seeded American Taylor Fritz managed to overcome a dramatic moment when he let slip six match points in the second set to eventually edge out Italy's Matteo Berrettini 7-5, 6-7, 7-5 after an exhilarating two-hour and 44-minute battle.

With this victory, Fritz improved his head-to-head record against Berrettini to 5-0 and advanced to his sixth Masters 1000 semi-final, marking his first in Miami. Up next for the World No. 4 is Czech teenager Jakub Mensik, who will be making his debut in a Masters 1000 semi-final.
