Titled "Human Rights in Xizang in the New Era," the document was presented at a press conference in Lhasa, the region’s capital, by the State Council Information Office.
According to the report, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have put in place effective strategies aimed at enhancing the economy, elevating living standards, promoting ethnic unity and progress, and safeguarding basic rights for all inhabitants of the region.
The paper indicates that since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the respect and protection of human rights have become integral to the governance guidelines established by the Party Central Committee for Xizang.
Notably, the CPC has maintained a people-centered approach to human rights, emphasizing the importance of development in safeguarding these rights and actively promoting whole-process people's democracy.
Furthermore, the Party has reinforced legal protections for human rights while coordinating efforts to enhance both civil and political rights alongside economic, social, and cultural rights, striving for comprehensive development and shared prosperity among all ethnic groups.
The document asserts that Xizang is now characterized by political stability, ethnic unity, economic progress, social harmony, and peaceful coexistence among various religions.
It also notes a healthy environment and general contentment among local residents regarding their work and daily lives, recognizing this progress as a remarkable accomplishment in the realm of human rights on the snowy plateau.
