'Blast Off' – WATCH Biden jest during devastating LA fires
The remarks made by outgoing US President Joe Biden have sparked significant outrage on social media, with several users labeling them as “disgusting.”

Biden has come under fire after delivering what many perceived as an inappropriate “fiery” joke during a briefing about California’s ongoing battle with devastating wildfires. The wildfires in Los Angeles County have had catastrophic effects, claiming at least 10 lives and forcing around 180,000 residents to evacuate their homes. This disaster has ravaged wealthy neighborhoods, resulting in the destruction of approximately 10,000 homes and other buildings, including those owned by well-known Hollywood figures.

On Thursday, outrage intensified when Biden addressed the federal response to the wildfires. When he passed the microphone to Vice President Kamala Harris, a native of California, he remarked: “Madam Vice President, I know you’re directly affected. So you fire away, no pun intended.” His comment appeared to allude to the evacuation of Harris's residence in Brentwood, Los Angeles, which was under threat from the advancing flames.

Harris responded with what seemed to be a puzzled expression before smiling and proceeding with her comments.

However, Biden’s playful remark triggered a backlash on social media, with critics characterizing it as “disgusting,” “tone deaf,” and an indication of the president’s unfitness for office at the age of 82. Townhall.com columnist Derek Hunter remarked on the matter, stating that “most of the time, Joe Biden is just a mean, vindictive person, but in this case I think this can be blamed on his senility.”

This incident is not the first time Biden has faced scrutiny for his comments in the wake of tragic events. In 2023, while visiting Maui, Hawaii, which had also suffered from wildfires resulting in over 100 fatalities, he found himself in hot water for saying, while petting a search dog, “You guys catch the boots out here?” and added with a smile, “That’s some hot ground, man.”
