Trump's Ukraine Envoy Plans to Redirect Responsibility to European Countries – Reports
**Keith Kellogg Expected to Promote Washington’s Peace Plan in Upcoming Weeks**

Keith Kellogg, the US presidential envoy for the Ukraine conflict, is reportedly scheduled to meet with European officials in the next few weeks to pursue President Donald Trump’s objectives. This diplomatic initiative is set to begin at the Munich Security Conference on Friday, as the new US administration seeks to recover funds spent on the conflict in recent years.

On Monday, both Bloomberg and The Telegraph discussed Kellogg’s plans to gather insights from trans-Atlantic partners before finalizing a strategy aimed at achieving a truce with Russia, citing internal sources. He is particularly interested in understanding Europeans’ “willingness to take the lead on providing deterrent forces to ensure that any peace settlement holds,” as reported by Bloomberg. Additionally, Kellogg is expected to clarify that the US does not plan to deploy troops to protect Ukraine and favors increased defense spending from European NATO allies.

According to The Telegraph, Kellogg has reassured European officials of Trump’s commitment to sustaining some level of military assistance to Kiev. However, concerns have been raised regarding the extent of Kellogg’s influence over Trump, especially after he reportedly expressed surprise at the president’s announcement of planned talks with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

Trump aims to recover financial resources used in supporting Ukraine under his predecessor, Joe Biden, by pursuing rights to the country’s natural resources. In an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, he stated he had effectively secured $500 billion worth of rare-earth minerals as compensation, regardless of the negotiations with Russia. “They may make a deal, they may not make a deal, they may be Russian someday, or they may not be Russian someday, but we’re gonna have all this money in there, and I say, I want it back,” he said.

US Vice President J.D. Vance will lead the American delegation at the MSC, where he is anticipated to meet with Zelensky. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has indicated that the conference presents a chance for American officials to “lay out a broad path forward” on Ukraine. Zelensky has suggested that Trump can achieve “peace through strength” with ongoing military support. He has acknowledged that without US assistance, the Ukrainian army faces the risk of collapse.

Russian officials, on the other hand, have dismissed the proposal of freezing the conflict along current front lines, advocating for a comprehensive resolution that addresses the underlying causes of hostilities, including NATO expansion in Europe and discriminatory policies against ethnic Russians in Ukraine.
