On Wednesday, China's State Council held a plenary meeting to review a draft government work report. This document is set to be discussed at the annual session of the top legislature in March.
Premier Li Qiang led the meeting and emphasized the importance of adequately addressing public expectations and concerns. He highlighted the need to comprehensively tackle the promotion of high-quality development and called for further revisions to the report.
As the new year presents new circumstances and challenges, Li stated that it is crucial to systematically and innovatively implement the major policies and strategic plans outlined by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
He pointed out that, in pursuit of development goals, efforts should be intensified to enhance counter-cyclical adjustments in response to evolving conditions. Additionally, he stressed the importance of introducing practical and accessible policy measures and fostering better interaction between policies and the market.
Li also called for strong initiatives to achieve breakthroughs in key areas, including enhancing domestic circulation, advancing technological innovation, and promoting industrial upgrades, with the aim of cultivating new advantages for China’s long-term development.
In his remarks, Li indicated that a more robust and high-standard approach would be adopted to create a first-class business environment. This effort aims to improve conditions for various enterprises to innovate and grow in China while providing more opportunities for diverse talents to engage in entrepreneurship.
