Trump vows not to appoint family members to government positions
The US President-elect has expressed his intention to keep family members out of his upcoming administration.

US President-elect Donald Trump stated that he prefers not to have his children involved in the new administration. He shared these thoughts during a Fox News interview on Wednesday, following his victory over Democratic opponent Kamala Harris.

“I said, ‘that’s enough for the family!’ You know why? It’s too painful for the family, my family has been through hell,” he asserted.

Trump, who served as the 45th president of the United States from 2017 to 2021, is set to take office again as the 47th president in 2025. During his first term, his eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, served as key advisers and faced criticism for their involvement. In 2022, as her father launched his third presidential campaign, Ivanka announced her decision to step back from politics to focus on her children and family life.

“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she stated at that time.

Ivanka's choice came amid her father's facing multiple federal criminal charges regarding the handling of over 100 classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Additionally, she, along with her siblings Eric and Donald Jr., has been mentioned in a civil suit by the New York attorney general, exposing them to legal complications related to the Trump family business.

Furthermore, Trump noted last month that his 18-year-old son, Barron Trump, played a significant role in shaping his campaign strategy. During a campaign event in Arizona, Trump mentioned to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson that he would offer influential positions in his administration to Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. if he wins the election.
