At a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, the former President, Donald Trump, highlighted his efforts to enhance relations with North Korea, specifically referencing his 2019 encounter with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un at the demilitarized zone. "I got along with Kim Jong-un of North Korea. Remember I walked over… the first person to ever walk over from this country," Trump stated. He further noted, “We also looked at his nuclear capability. It’s very substantial," and emphasized, "You know, getting along is a good thing. It’s not a bad thing.”
Trump similarly expressed that maintaining amicable relations with Moscow is beneficial. “Getting along” with Russia is not a “bad thing,” he remarked. Furthermore, Trump harshly criticized the current administration under President Joe Biden, suggesting that Biden has "completely lost his mind" and has a very low IQ which "maybe now it’s nonexistent."
He also addressed the criticisms from Vice President Kamala Harris, who during her Democratic nomination acceptance speech in Chicago, condemned Trump’s engagements with Kim Jong-un. Trump refuted claims that the current issues in US-Russia relations would have transpired under his leadership, asserting that such complications would have been avoided.
