Trump and Harris Even in Key Swing States, According to Poll
A new survey reveals that both US presidential candidates are nearly tied in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

According to the poll released on Thursday, former US President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are in a close contest in these crucial battleground states. The research, conducted by Marist College in New York, indicates that both candidates have the support of 49% among likely voters in North Carolina. In Arizona and Georgia, Trump holds a slim lead of one percentage point, with 50% of potential voters in each state favoring him, while 49% lean towards Harris.

The survey took place from September 19 to September 24 and included 4,643 registered voters across the three states, all of whom stated they intended to vote in November, with 91% expressing certainty about their choice.

These three states collectively hold 43 electoral votes. Trump won North Carolina in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. He also secured victories in Arizona and Georgia against the then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 but lost both states to President Joe Biden in 2020, marking a significant Democratic win in Georgia for the first time since 1992.

Trump has actively challenged the election results in Georgia, claiming it was rigged, a notion countered by various state officials, including Republican Governor Brian Kemp.

An earlier poll conducted in August by the Siena College Research Institute indicated that Harris had a considerable advantage over Trump in three other swing states: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, where she was projected to outpace him 50% to 46%.

However, it is important to note that in the 2020 election, the final margin between Biden and Trump was much narrower than early predictions suggested.

Additionally, nationwide polling results released by the New York Times on Thursday indicated that Harris is ahead of Trump by three points. The Times cautioned that Trump could still emerge victorious if he makes gains in key states, including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Nevada, where Harris' lead is within two percentage points.
