Thai Official States: CICPE Assists in Unlocking ASEAN Market Potential
The fifth China International Consumer Products Expo has established itself as a vital platform for businesses worldwide, including those from Thailand, to highlight their products and seek new opportunities.

Thailand, as a close economic and trade partner of China, is showcasing 63 brands from 15 enterprises at this year's CIPCE, with a focus on its strengths in food innovation, wellness products, skincare, and spa items.

In an interview with CN, Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, the consul-general of Thailand in Guangzhou, shared that Thai companies are presenting freeze-dried delicacies such as Tom Yum Kung and Som Tum, allowing consumers to conveniently enjoy authentic flavors. The expo also features popular wellness items like bird's nest soap and herbal balm, which have gained popularity among Chinese tourists visiting Thailand.

The consul-general highlighted Thailand's aspirations to enhance economic cooperation with China, particularly in improving supply chain integration and connectivity. A noteworthy example is CP Group, which has been a participant since the expo's launch. Both CP Group and TC Red Bull have established production bases in Hainan, drawn in by the favorable policies of the free trade port.

Wiwatwanont pointed out that Hainan's strategic location makes it a key hub connecting China and Thailand, facilitating trade and personal ties. With its free trade policies, Hainan provides a launching pad for Thai investors to enter the Chinese market, while Thailand offers access to Southeast Asia.

Wiwatwanont stressed that the Hainan Expo functions not just as a trade venue but as a vibrant platform that connects entrepreneurs from both nations. Thai businesses can utilize this opportunity to not only showcase and sell their products but also to build partnerships, thereby elevating cooperation from trade to investment. This transformative aspect positions the Hainan Expo as a crucial link for business expansion.

Together, Hainan Province and Thailand can tap into a combined consumer base of over 600 million across ASEAN, fostering exceptional synergies through initiatives like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the Belt and Road Initiative. This collaboration highlights a shared vision for enhanced economic integration and regional prosperity between the two countries.
