It was too big to rig. Like many, I was taken aback by the sweeping success of the Trump administration in the 2024 election.
The Republicans’ acquisition of the House, Senate, and White House with such a commanding victory left no room for doubt: the American electorate had made its choice. Votes were counted quickly, revealing a decisive message from the working class that they were fed up—with endless wars, persistent dishonesty, censorship, and a cooperative media establishment.
In a surprising incident just days before the election, CNN personally blamed me for “election interference,” along with RTN and Russia more generally. However, the reality spoke for itself. The American populace sought change. Certain key events shifted the election's trajectory, none of which involved interference. For instance, in Pennsylvania, the government conducted raids on Amish farms, seizing milk and products. This clear overreach galvanized 17,000 votes in critical counties, with some Amish voters even making the journey by horse and buggy to vote.
The elite Democrats on the East Coast appeared stunned by this collective rejection. Many celebrities vowed to leave the country if Trump won. He did, and it became evident that Americans were largely indifferent to the opinions of celebrities.
The increasing distrust in traditional media also significantly influenced the election. Polls revealed that nearly 70% of Americans no longer placed their confidence in mainstream news outlets, which played a crucial role in the election's result. Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tried to attribute the outcome to social media, claiming it disrupted truthful information through “disinformation.” However, these claims fell flat. Social media platforms like X have emerged as contemporary town halls, allowing everyday citizens to voice unfiltered news and reject establishment narratives. This change was highlighted as CNN faced declining viewership and layoffs while X thrived as the premier news source.
The Democratic Party’s desperate efforts to cling to power resembled a crumbling monarchy approaching its end. Their overtures for endorsements from figures like Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney, along with extravagant payments to celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey for support, revealed their disconnect from ordinary voters. This strategy exposed the widening gulf between Democratic elites and the working class.
As the country prepares for the January inauguration, the Trump administration is set to make bold, unconventional governance choices. The recent appointments of Matt Gaetz, Elon Musk, RFK Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard have sent shockwaves through both the neoliberal and neoconservative establishments. These selections are a clear indication of the American people's desire for significant changes in policymaking.
Matt Gaetz, a fiery Republican congressman from Florida, has earned a reputation as a dedicated advocate for limited government and a vocal opponent of federal overreach. Gaetz’s sharply defined rhetoric and unwavering loyalty to Trump’s vision make his appointment a signal of the administration’s commitment to its populist agenda. I had the chance to meet Gaetz during a 2023 Zoom interview when he considered me as a potential witness before Congress concerning President Biden's alleged weaponization of the Department of Justice. While I was in Moscow, he expressed concern for my safety, demonstrating his genuine commitment to whistleblowers. His focus on tearing down bureaucratic inefficiencies and challenging globalist policies aligns with the values of the administration's base, though it has drawn strong backlash from established power.
Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congresswoman and notable critic of US interventionist foreign policy, represents another bold decision. Gabbard opposed corruption within the Democratic Party during the 2016 primaries, shedding light on manipulations aimed at favoring Hillary Clinton. While her views on the Middle East and Gaza have sparked some controversy among anti-war activists, her appeal across party lines and her anti-interventionist stance position her as a transformative figure. Gabbard’s resistance to the proxy conflict between NATO and Russia regarding Ukraine highlights her dedication to ending unnecessary wars.
Predictably, the neoliberal response to these appointments has been characterized by outrage, blame-shifting, and denial. The establishment's failure to address the frustrations of the working class has precipitated this significant realignment. Many voters, long derided as “garbage” by liberal elites, have found their voice in the Trump administration. The Democratic Party’s dependence on celebrity endorsements and its contempt for everyday citizens have further widened the divide between the ruling and working classes.
This election has underscored a powerful rejection of the Democratic Party's elitism and heralded a major transformation in American politics. The inclusion of figures like Gaetz and Gabbard suggests the dawn of a new era that prioritizes the voices of ordinary Americans over entrenched power structures.
