Recently released from prison, Bannon declares MAGA movement 'is coming to fruition'
Bannon is anticipated to lead a press conference later on Tuesday.
The broadcast began with clips of Rachel Maddow and Joe Scarborough criticizing former President Donald Trump. Following that, Bannon showcased several cable news segments discussing his own release.
Then, addressing his audience for the first time in four months after serving his sentence for contempt of Congress, Bannon quickly returned to his familiar rhetoric.
“Understand something, and this has to be very clear, the Democrats and the radicals you just saw on MSNBC and CNN … they have no intention of giving up power,” he stated to an audience that quickly grew to more than 60,000 viewers. “And this is why it’s so important for this audience, you are the background of this movement.”
Bannon proceeded to outline his strategy to assist Trump in the upcoming election. He emphasized a get-out-the-vote initiative, followed by ensuring that “they cannot steal the election,” reiterating some of the misleading claims that ultimately resulted in his imprisonment for defying a congressional subpoena. He further asserted on Tuesday that Trump should declare victory again if his vote totals resemble those from 2020.
“He should stand up and say, ‘Hey, I’ve won this,'" Bannon remarked about Trump in an interview with The New York Times after his release. "'And we have teams right now that are going to make sure that this thing is not going to be stolen.’"
With just a week until Election Day, Bannon told his listeners that “everything we’ve fought for for years is coming to fruition." He expressed gratitude towards those who stepped in to mobilize MAGA voters during his absence. He is set to appear at a press conference at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
“This show has never been more powerful,” Bannon claimed, holding former Speaker Nancy Pelosi responsible for his imprisonment. “The four months in federal prison, not only did it not break me, it empowered me. I am more energized and more focused than I have ever been in my entire life."
In a post on Truth Social, it was noted that Bannon’s daughter, Maureen, met him at the prison.
Bannon, who hosts the "War Room" podcast and served as a key adviser to former President Donald Trump, had been receiving daily updates from his daughter about the campaign, PMG reported in July.
He faced conviction for violating a subpoena from the congressional committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Previously, he had received a pardon from Trump for federal fraud charges.
Bannon’s release was welcomed immediately by Rep. Andy Biggs, who shared a message along with a photo of Bannon and his daughter leaving prison on Tuesday.
“Steve Bannon is a free man,” Biggs wrote on X. “He never should have been imprisoned in the first place, but the tyrannical Left held him as a political prisoner for months. Welcome back, sir.”
