Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk told American journalist Tucker Carlson that he is “all in” for Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential election.
In an interview that aired on Musk’s X social media platform, Carlson initiated the conversation by speculating on the consequences of a Harris victory over Trump. “If he loses… you’re f**ked, dude!” Carlson remarked, which elicited laughter from both.
Musk concurred, saying, “If he loses, I’m f**ked,” and went on to ponder, “how long do you think my prison sentence is going to be? Will I see my children? I don’t know.”
The Tesla CEO formally backed Trump in July after an assassination attempt on the former president during a rally in Pennsylvania. Musk referred to Harris disdainfully, stating, “And I’ve been trashing Kamala non-stop,” and labeled her “the Kamala puppet” representing a larger “machine.”
He recalled a controversial post he made on X—which he later deleted—that suggested no one was trying to kill Harris, while Trump had faced two assassination attempts. Musk clarified that his statement was misinterpreted as a call for violence against Harris, asserting, “there is no reason to try to assassinate a puppet.”
“She’ll say whatever words are on the teleprompter, so… it’s really whoever controls the teleprompter is actually in charge,” he added.
When discussing the potential repercussions if Trump loses, Musk reiterated that he is “all in.”
In the interview, Musk also mentioned discussions about leading a “government efficiency commission” within a possible Trump administration. Following his acquisition of X, he noted that he cut 80% of the staff while enhancing the platform’s features and functionality.
This discussion follows Musk’s endorsement of Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Musk praised the former president's resilience. Although he identifies as a political moderate, Musk noted that he appears to lean right in comparison to the increasingly extreme views of the political left in the United States.
