Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has expressed that a victory for Vice President Kamala Harris would eventually result in war with Russia, warning of the threat of a “nuclear Holocaust.”
At a campaign rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Friday, Trump voiced his apprehensions about a potential nuclear conflict stemming from the “incompetent people” in Washington, asserting he is the only individual capable of averting a global war.
“You’re going to end up in World War III. You’re going to have a nuclear Holocaust if we’re not careful. These people have no idea what they’re doing,” he declared to supporters, vowing to keep Americans “out of World War III.”
“I will end the chaos in the Middle East, and I will settle the war in Ukraine… I will resolve that as president-elect,” he added, maintaining that “a vote for comrade Kamala Harris is a vote for war with Russia.”
Trump further alleged that Harris intends to reinstate military conscription to “draft your child and put them in a war that should never have happened.”
The former US president claims that the Ukraine conflict would not have intensified if he had been in office during that period. Throughout his reelection campaign, he has insisted that he could resolve the fighting “in 24 hours,” although he has not provided details on how he would achieve that.
Earlier this week, Trump's running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, highlighted a potential peace proposal. He suggested it would likely include establishing a demilitarized zone along the current line of contact and guaranteeing Ukraine’s neutrality to Moscow, which aligns with one of Russia’s key aims.
In contrast, Harris argues that Trump would abandon Ukraine, stating that her initiatives, along with the provision of ammunition, have guaranteed the country’s “independent and free” status to this day.
