Having already clinched the top position in the regular season with three games remaining, Guangsha's performance indicated some signs of complacency. In contrast, Guangdong maintained the intense momentum they exhibited in the opening quarter of their last two games, embarking on a 20-5 scoring run in the latter half of the first quarter and closing it out with a 15-point lead.
During the second quarter, Hu Mingxuan propelled Guangdong to a 17-point advantage, but the team encountered difficulties in the third quarter, struggling to score while Guangsha took advantage of Zhu Junlong's three-pointers to level the game at 46.
However, Guangsha's efforts were hindered by the absence of key players like Hu Jinqiu, impacting their scoring capabilities. Gradually, Guangdong extended their lead once again and clinched the victory with a 10-point margin. This win marked their second in a row and positioned them in fifth place.
In other matchups, the Beikong Royal Fighters triumphed over the Shanxi Loongs at home with a score of 116-107, achieving their third consecutive victory. The Qingdao Eagles also had a notable win, defeating the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 106-82 and extending their winning streak to four games.
Meanwhile, the Shandong Kylins, currently ranked third in the league, delivered an outstanding performance in the second half, securing a decisive 105-80 away victory over the Sichuan Blue Whales.
