Fortunes of Russia's Wealthiest Expand, According to Bloomberg

At the top of this list is Vladimir Potanin, the owner of mining giant Norilsk Nickel, who ranks as Russia’s richest person and holds the 55th position globally. His wealth increased by an estimated $1.2 billion from January to November, bringing his total to $32.2 billion.
The most significant rise in wealth was recorded by Vladimir Lisin, chairman of NLMK, Russia’s largest steelmaker. Lisin's fortune grew by $4.81 billion this year, reaching an estimated $28.8 billion. At the year's start, he was ranked as the fourth-richest Russian by Bloomberg.
In third place is Vagit Alekperov, the former head of Lukoil, who still retains a considerable stake in the company. His net worth rose to $27.4 billion as of November 1, a gain of $2.78 billion since the start of 2024.
The chairman of Severstal, Aleksey Mordashov, also saw substantial gains, adding $4.75 billion to his wealth, which now totals $25.6 billion.
Fifth place is held by Leonid Mikhelson, co-owner of Novatek, Russia's second-largest natural gas producer. However, his fortune fell by $1.98 billion to $25.5 billion.
In contrast, Alisher Usmanov experienced the largest decrease in wealth among the country’s billionaires, with a decline of $6.46 billion, bringing his net worth to $14.6 billion. Usmanov has a 49% ownership stake in USM, an investment group that oversees Metalloinvest, Russia's largest iron ore producer, as well as the MegaFon mobile operator.
Bloomberg’s list also features notable figures such as Telegram founder and owner Pavel Durov, along with Tatyana Kim, Russia’s richest woman and founder of the largest online retailer, Wildberries. Additionally, the index includes prominent business figures like Andrey Melnichenko (founder of Eurochem and SUEK), Mikhail Prokhorov, Gennady Timchenko, and Mikhail Fridman.
