CIFTIS showcases numerous achievements, emphasizes innovation in services trade
The 2024 edition of the China International Fair for Trade in Services concluded on Monday in Beijing, resulting in approximately 1,000 outcomes achieved.
This prominent trade event resulted in nearly 1,000 outcomes, which included various deals and investments across seven main categories, with a particular focus on construction, finance, and business services, according to the fair's organizing committee.
Throughout the five-day fair, 2,000 companies participated in person, while over 6,000 joined online. By Monday noon, the event had attracted approximately 242,000 attendees, with more than 100,000 being professional visitors, representing a 20 percent increase from the previous year.
International participation reached new levels for this edition of CIFTIS. The share of international exhibitors among the offline participants exceeded 20 percent, featuring over 460 companies from the Fortune Global 500 and other leading industry players. A historic 85 countries and international organizations established exhibits and held events, with 13 of these entities participating independently for the first time.
This year's fair prominently highlighted smart and innovative services. The event showcased cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, the metaverse, and 6G, all while emphasizing the cultivation of new quality productive forces. Additionally, more than 200 integrated innovative results related to digital, intelligent, and green services were presented during the proceedings.
Wang Bo, deputy director of the department of trade in services and commercial services at the Ministry of Commerce, highlighted the significant role of CIFTIS in enhancing openness, fostering cooperation, and promoting innovation. He reiterated China's dedication to utilizing the trading platform to accelerate the high-quality development of services trade and to strengthen global collaboration during a press conference marking the fair's conclusion.
