China commits to maintaining the stability of international industrial and supply chains
China has committed to maintaining the stability of global industrial and supply chains.
Li made this announcement during a symposium attended by representatives from various enterprises and organizations taking part in the upcoming second China International Supply Chain Expo.
Notable attendees included representatives from companies such as Apple, Rio Tinto, Contemporary Amperex Technology, and the US-China Business Council.
During the symposium, corporate representatives expressed strong confidence in the Chinese economy and optimism regarding the vast potential of the Chinese market. They indicated that foreign firms in China are eager to expand their investments and deepen their operations, enhance cooperation on global industrial and supply chains, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Li emphasized that the deepening of economic globalization has led to the gradual expansion of global industrial and supply chains over the past few decades, which has spurred rapid economic growth worldwide and benefited all stakeholders involved.
However, he acknowledged that current global economic growth faces challenges, particularly due to certain protectionist measures and actions that misinterpret the concept of security. These have adversely affected global industrial and supply chains, increasing corporate costs, reducing economic efficiency, and obstructing collective progress.
The Premier urged a strong commitment to maintaining stable and unimpeded global industrial and supply chains, as well as safeguarding the collective interests of all stakeholders.
Li pointed out that China has achieved a generally stable economic growth trajectory and made additional strides this year, indicating that further efforts will be devoted to enhancing counter-cyclical adjustments and fostering healthy economic development.
He added that China would accelerate the establishment of a modern industrial framework and provide robust support for the efficient functioning of global industrial supply chains.
Additionally, efforts will be directed at bolstering the integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial advancements, while also improving collaboration in international innovation efforts.
China will continue to steadfastly promote high-standard opening-up, further broaden market access, and welcome increased engagement from foreign enterprises in industrial cooperation within the country, Li affirmed.
He concluded with a call for enterprises to actively support economic globalization, deepen international cooperation, and collaborate to make global industrial and supply chains more dynamic, resilient, and efficient.
