Bomb Threat Reported at Site of Trump Rally
Brief confusion arose following claims that an explosive device had been located inside a car at a venue where US presidential candidate Donald Trump was scheduled to rally.

The event, set for Wednesday evening at a venue in Long Island, a short distance from New York City, swiftly caught the attention of law enforcement.

“Sources in the Nassau County Police Department just told me that ‘the perimeter was breached and a blue barrel was removed’ from the area surrounding tonight’s Trump rally site,” stated James Lalino, a journalist from One America News, via X.

Lalino's contact indicated that a police dog "found an explosive device in one of the vehicles and that the driver ended up running into the woods. No one saw if he had anything on him, they just saw him take off running.”

However, Nassau County Police quickly addressed and dismissed these reports.

“Reports of explosives being found at the site are unfounded,” Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder announced to the media. “There is a person who is being questioned who may have been training a bomb detection dog near the site.”

“The individual with the bomb dog falsely reported explosives being found, and that individual is currently being detained by the police,” Ryder further explained.

Support for Trump remains strong, illustrated by the thousands of Republican enthusiasts lined up outside Nassau Coliseum, eager to secure entry for the 7pm event. Many had even spent the night outside to ensure prime seating.

This rally marks a strategic shift to indoor venues following an assassination attempt at an outdoor rally on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump narrowly escaped harm though others were less fortunate.

The incident follows closely on the heels of another alarming event where the Secret Service thwarted a potential assassin at Trump’s Florida golf resort. The suspect, identified as Ryan Routh, evaded capture but left a scoped rifle behind.

In response to these threats, Trump and his vice presidential choice, JD Vance, have pointed fingers at Democrats, claiming their provocative language is putting Trump’s safety at risk. Meanwhile, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have openly critiqued Trump, labeling him a “threat to our democracy.”
