Biden Aims to "Corner Trump" on Ukraine, Says Commentator
The outgoing US president is attempting to extend the conflict with Russia beyond his presidency, according to Dan Kovalik, a political commentator, who spoke to RT.

Kovalik asserted that President Joe Biden aims to corner President-elect Donald Trump into extending the war in Ukraine, contradicting Trump's election commitments. Reports emerged on Sunday indicating that Biden had approved Ukraine's request to conduct long-range strikes on Russian territory using ATACMS ballistic missiles supplied by the Pentagon. Moscow has previously warned that such actions could lead to a direct war between NATO and Russia.

“[The Biden administration] wants to back Trump into a corner. They know Trump at least promised to end the war in Ukraine, and they want to make it difficult for him to do that,” Kovalik explained. He added, “The American people want this over, and in the waning days of this presidency, they will do everything they can to keep this war going.”

Kovalik suggested that the decision may be less about Trump personally and more about Biden's desire to solidify what he views as his political legacy. He argued that the outgoing president wants to be remembered as a warmonger “to the bitter end.”

The discussion followed reports that France and the UK had also allowed similar permissions regarding Scalp/Storm Shadow missiles, though Le Figaro later retracted that claim, and Paris denied any change in policy. As of now, the US and Ukraine have not formally confirmed those reports.
