At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, numerous attendees displayed their support for the presidential nominee by wearing bandages, responding to a recent attack on his life.

Supporters of Donald Trump expressed their solidarity by sporting ear bandages during the convention, mimicking the injury Trump sustained when an assassin's bullet grazed his right ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump had made his first public appearance post-incident at the convention with a visible bandage, prompting his followers to adopt similar bandages as a symbol of support. These ranged from plain medical bandages to more decorative ones featuring the US flag and slogans like "Trump 2024" or “fight, fight, fight”, echoing Trump’s immediate reaction after the incident in Butler.

“We’re helping President Trump set a new fashion statement. We’re standing in solidarity with him for his wound. And we just want him to know how much we love him,” said Arizona delegate Susan Ellsworth to Reuters.

Echoing the sentiment of solidarity, one supporter expressed his desire for Trump to recognize he was not by himself during these challenging times.

Arizona’s Joe Neglia remarked to CBS News that he believed these symbolic bandages would turn into “the newest fashion trend” among Trump’s followers, similar to the iconic red 'Make America Great Again' hat.

Jackson Carpenter, a delegate from Texas, spoke to the Washington Post, stressing the need for a symbol representing the unacceptability of political violence in America.

Adding a unique flavor to the convention, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan drew significant attention by tearing his shirt off onstage during his speech to show support for Trump.

The convention concluded after four days with Trump’s prime-time speech where he officially accepted his nomination for a second term, shifting his address from critiquing Joe Biden’s policies to emphasizing unity and outlining his plans if re-elected in the upcoming November election against Biden.
