According to former President Donald Trump, numerous reports of alleged voter fraud have surfaced in Philadelphia. The Republican nominee is in a tight race with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris in the polls, especially in key battleground states like Pennsylvania.
On Tuesday, Trump expressed on his Truth Social account that there is “a lot of talk about massive CHEATING in Philadelphia,” though he did not provide further details. He issued a warning, stating, “Law enforcement coming.”
In response, the Philadelphia Police Department informed CNN that they are unaware of any voting irregularities in the state that would necessitate police involvement.
Seth Bluestein, the City Commissioner of Philadelphia, dismissed Trump’s claims of fraud, asserting in a post on X that “there is absolutely no truth to this allegation” and reaffirming that voting has been “safe and secure.”
Earlier, Trump shared a video on his social media platforms, claiming that Republicans are performing “really well” and urging his supporters to remain in line and ensure they “get through and vote.” He declared, “We’re gonna have a big victory tonight.”
The Republican National Committee has also initiated a campaign called ‘Protect The Vote,’ encouraging citizens to “stay in line” regardless of any challenges they may face.
The GOP issued a message stating, “If you’re there before the official close of polls, don’t let anyone intimidate you or force you out of line.” Voters have been prompted to report any issues at polling stations or any suspicions of voter fraud through the campaign’s official website.
Polls leading up to the election have shown that neither the Republican nor the Democratic candidates hold a decisive edge as voting approaches. Additionally, a CBS News exit poll revealed that more than half of Trump supporters are uncertain about the fairness of Tuesday’s vote, while 88% of Harris supporters express confidence in the election's integrity.
