Heavy snowfall and blizzards have considerably disrupted daily life across 18 provinces in Türkiye, leading to the closure of 2,173 roads, as reported by the state-run TRT on Sunday.

In the Metropolitan Municipality of eastern Van province, the accumulation of snow and blizzards has resulted in access being cut off to 19 neighborhoods and 35 hamlets. Street-clearing operations are currently underway in the district of Ercis, where snow depth has reached 40 centimeters.

In eastern Mus province, teams are diligently working to reduce disruptions for residents, although 46 village roads in the area remain inaccessible. Similarly, in southeastern Bitlis province, local transportation has suffered significantly, with 50 village roads completely blocked.

In eastern Hakkari, 32 of the 34 settlements that were cut off due to heavy snowfall and blizzards on Friday have been reconnected thanks to the efforts of snow-clearing teams. However, concerns about avalanche risks have stalled work on the roads leading to Alan village in the Semdinli district and Aktoprak hamlet in the Yuksekova district.

The Black Sea region has also been heavily impacted by snowfall, particularly in higher-altitude villages. In Kastamonu, transportation disruptions have been reported in mountainous areas. Sinop has seen 282 village roads closed due to snow, with the provincial governor's office warning that adverse weather conditions, including snow and ice, are expected to last until midday on Monday.

In Trabzon, snowfall that started along the coast in the early hours has intensified, affecting both transportation and daily routines. Accompanying strong winds have also generated high waves in the Black Sea, which have grounded fishing boats at ports.

Similarly, Rize has experienced snowfall leading to the closure of 81 village roads, with municipal teams actively engaged in clearing the blocked paths. Eastern Erzurum province has seen the closure of eight neighborhood roads due to heavy snow and gusty winds, while in Ardahan, four village roads remain impassable.

Authorities in the affected provinces are urging residents to take precautions against the severe weather and to avoid unnecessary travel until road-clearing operations are completed.
