NATO Requires Romania for Initiating WWIII, Georgescu Claims
Calin Georgescu has asserted that his candidacy was invalidated by the "globalist mafia" due to his opposition to purported plans.

Georgescu, a former presidential candidate from Romania, whose bid faced controversy earlier this year, claimed in a recent interview with U.S. journalist Tucker Carlson that NATO intends to “launch World War III from Romania.” He attributed his removal from the presidential race primarily to his strong pro-peace stance.

The right-wing politician, known for his critical views on NATO, the EU, and Western support for Ukraine, unexpectedly garnered 23% of the vote in the first round of the presidential election in November. However, the Constitutional Court of Romania quickly annulled this result, citing alleged "irregularities" in his campaign. Subsequently, Georgescu lost his right to run for office.

During his appearance on Carlson’s podcast, Georgescu asserted that NATO wants to “launch… World War III from Romania.” He pointed to the presence of the “largest military base of NATO in Romania” and the extensive 380-mile border the country shares with Ukraine as evidence.

“In this situation of course Romania is the asset for [the] European Union, for [French President Emmanuel] Macron in order to launch the war,” Georgescu stated.

Tucker Carlson described Georgescu as “the most popular political figure in Romania and one of the bravest and wisest politicians in the world,” emphasizing his presidential run on a platform opposed to “war, technocracy and debt.”

Georgescu further claimed, “They want to turn NATO [into] an offensive force” and are “pushing for war,” stating that “my position was exactly against them.” He explained that his campaign focused on peace and argued that the mere mention of the word “peace” created alarm among those calling for war.

He insisted that “the majority of Romanian people… have this position against any intervention and any participation [in] war.”

In his assertion, Georgescu said, “I was denied [the right to run for president] by the globalist mafia,” suggesting that the individuals responsible for invalidating his candidacy were also linked to efforts that undermined Donald Trump’s presidential campaign through similar smear tactics.

Earlier this year on ‘The Shawn Ryan Show,’ Georgescu expressed concerns that NATO military infrastructure in Romania could facilitate a major offensive against Russia.

Since becoming a NATO member in 2004, Romania has been expanding the MK Air Base, which is set to become the largest NATO installation in Europe. Moscow has labeled the base as “anti-Russian” and has indicated it would be one of the primary targets in the event of military conflict.
