Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Friday that the upcoming round of indirect talks with the United States will take place in Oman on Sunday. He also mentioned that the Omani authorities are expected to announce the start time for the negotiations.

Araghchi made this announcement during an interview with Shahrara newspaper while visiting the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad. He discussed the Omani-mediated talks concerning Tehran's nuclear program and the lifting of U.S. sanctions.

"Our Omani friends asked our opinion about setting the next meeting date on Sunday, and we announced our consent. Apparently, they have spoken to the other side, and up to this moment, the negotiations are scheduled to be held on Sunday," Araghchi stated.

The minister emphasized that while Iran’s stance in the negotiations remains principled and fixed, the U.S. side was conveying contradictory messages. He reiterated that Iran would maintain its "clear" positions throughout the discussions.

During the interview, Araghchi also mentioned his plans to visit Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Saturday for consultations regarding regional matters and the indirect talks with the U.S. in Riyadh, after which he will participate in the Iran-Arab World Dialogue summit in Doha.

So far, the delegations from Iran and the United States have engaged in three rounds of indirect talks—held in Muscat on April 12 and April 26, and in Rome on April 19. A fourth round was initially planned for May 3 in Rome but was postponed due to what Oman described as "logistical reasons."
