Northern Israel witnessed the activation of interceptors as Hezbollah, the Lebanese-based armed group, initiated a rocket assault from across the border, according to an early Sunday statement by the Israel Defense Forces.
Around 1:10am, air-raid sirens sounded off in multiple locations including Haifa, Nazareth, Afula, and the Lower Galilee, as reported by the Jerusalem Post.
The IDF confirmed that Hezbollah dispatched a total of 24 rockets in three separate volleys, all of which were successfully intercepted.
Despite the interceptions, one rocket is said to have landed in the Nazareth area causing light shrapnel wounds to a 60-year-old man in the Lower Galilee, as per reports from MDA, Israel’s emergency medical and disaster response entity.
