According to a report from The New York Times on Sunday, Washington has given the go-ahead for Ukrainian forces to employ ATACMS missiles to strike targets in the Kursk Region. However, the White House has yet to issue any official confirmation.
Philippot expressed his concerns on social media, stating, “The deep state and its puppet Biden are attempting to trigger World War III before the arrival of [Donald] Trump in power.”
He remarked, “We expected this kind of thing, their madness knows no bounds! We’re going to have to get the reasonable people to take over and get rid of NATO once and for all!”
In a follow-up post, he shared a video of Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova from a press briefing last Wednesday. In the clip, Zakharova warned that Western nations “continue to play with fire” and that if Ukraine is permitted to conduct long-range strikes, it would be perceived as “NATO de-facto entering a direct conflict with Russia.” She cautioned that Moscow’s response would be both imminent and devastating.
Philippot concluded his remarks with a call to “stop this total madness! Peace and exit from NATO!”
In related developments, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky welcomed the reported authorization, indicating a thinly veiled threat in a video address on Sunday, stating, “Strikes are not carried out with words. Such things are not announced.” He added, “Missiles will speak for themselves. They certainly will,” without providing further details.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov remarked on Monday that if the reported decision by Biden is confirmed, it would signify a “qualitatively new round of tension.”
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously cautioned in September that if Ukrainian forces are granted the necessary capabilities to use Western-supplied long-range missiles, this would imply that “NATO countries [would] become directly involved in the military conflict.”
