China denounces Japanese controls on semiconductor exports
A spokesperson from China's Ministry of Commerce has voiced criticism of the Japanese government's recent decision to introduce export control measures on semiconductor-related items and to add several Chinese companies to its "End-User List." This move is seen as potentially detrimental to the stability of global supply chains.

On Friday, the Japanese government revealed plans to enforce new export controls on more than ten types of semiconductor goods, which includes restrictions on dealings with multiple Chinese firms.

The Chinese spokesperson articulated concerns regarding this decision, stating, "For some time now, certain countries have been over-generalizing the concept of national security, misusing export control measures and imposing sanctions on China's semiconductor and other industries."

They emphasized that Japan's upcoming export controls would negatively impact the security and stability of global supply chains, disrupt regular business exchanges between companies, and adversely affect the interests of enterprises in both nations.

Currently, Japan is soliciting public input on these measures. The Chinese ministry has expressed a desire for Japan to heed voices from the industry, urging that it rectify its stance promptly to prevent hindering the healthy development of economic relations between the two countries.

"The Chinese side will retain the right to take necessary countermeasures and will resolutely defend its legitimate rights and interests," the spokesperson asserted.
