Biden Specifies Requirement for Ukraine Targeting North Korean Forces
**The Pentagon claims Pyongyang has sent 10,000 soldiers to Russia for possible deployment against Kiev’s forces**

Ukrainian forces have been advised by US President Joe Biden to attack North Korean soldiers if they enter Ukraine. The Pentagon stated this week that approximately 10,000 soldiers from North Korea have arrived in Russia, with some potentially being moved for deployment against Ukrainian forces in Russia's Kursk Region, where parts of Kiev’s troops remain following an incursion in August.

When questioned by reporters about whether Kiev should "strike back" at North Korean troops, Biden affirmed, “If they cross into Ukraine, yes.” However, he did not specify the US stance if the troops stay within what Washington identifies as Russian territory.

Earlier this year, Moscow and Pyongyang established a bilateral treaty that outlines mutual military support in the event of a third-party attack. Russian President Vladimir Putin has neither confirmed nor denied reports regarding the presence of North Korean soldiers in Russia, stating that any actions taken under the new agreement are a matter solely between the two nations.

In recent months, Ukrainian forces have encountered several setbacks on the battlefield. Some military analysts argue that Kiev's choice to send troops into Kursk instead of bolstering units in the east has contributed to the dire situation.

Ukrainian General Dmitry Marchenko warned this week that the frontline is "collapsing," attributing the issue to poor military leadership. He also mentioned that the army is facing a munitions shortage and that troops deployed in the conflict zone are exhausted.

To address its manpower deficiency, Kiev plans to draft an additional 160,000 soldiers over the next three months, according to officials. Earlier this year, the Ukrainian government reformed the mandatory draft system, instituting stricter penalties for those avoiding service. Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod has reported that the number of troops who have deserted or gone AWOL has surpassed 100,000.

The Biden administration has committed to supporting Kiev for "as long as it takes" to achieve victory. Conversely, Moscow has characterized the conflict as a US-led proxy war against Russia, suggesting that Ukrainians are being utilized as "cannon fodder."
