Berlin hosts special event to celebrate 75th anniversary of PRC founding
A unique cultural event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China (PRC) took place successfully in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday.
The event, titled "Written in the Sky: My China Story," was a collaborative effort between China Media Group, the Chinese Embassy in Germany, and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, which operates under China’s Ministry of Education.
Attendees were treated to performances by the German Burg Chinese Chorus, which sang classic Chinese and German songs such as "On Wings of Song" and "Jasmine Flower." Additionally, the Shenzhou-18 crew, currently in orbit, shared a video message from space and engaged with German teenagers.
Participants had the opportunity to express their wishes for the 75th anniversary of the PRC, highlighting their determination to continue sharing their stories with China in order to tackle global challenges and foster a better future for humanity.
Shen Haixiong, the president of CMG, remarked that China seeks to enhance international people-to-people exchanges, encourage dialogue among global civilizations, and improve mutual understanding. He expressed, "We will portray the ultimate romantic warmth of Chinese culture, record the continuous legacy of human civilization, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind."
Chinese Ambassador to Germany, Deng Hongbo, observed that both China and Germany possess rich cultural heritages, with their mutual appreciation and learning ongoing. In light of the current global challenges, Deng stressed the importance of improving communication and cooperation, expressing his hope that more young Germans will learn Chinese, develop an interest in Chinese culture, visit China, and become friendly ambassadors for Sino-German exchanges.
The "Written in the Sky: My China Story" event is also set to take place in several other countries, including the U.S., Canada, Russia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Nigeria.
