Trump warns of unleashing ‘let hell break out’ in Gaza
Israel and Hamas have leveled accusations against each other regarding violations of a ceasefire, amid an ultimatum issued by the United States.

US President Donald Trump has set a deadline for Hamas to release all remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza by midday Saturday, threatening that failure to comply would lead to “all hell” breaking out.

On Monday, Hamas announced its intention to stop the release of further hostages, claiming that Israel had breached the fragile ceasefire by hindering displaced Palestinians' return to northern Gaza, limiting humanitarian aid deliveries, and stalling negotiations for the next phase of the deal.

In turn, Israel contended that Hamas's actions amounted to a total violation of the ceasefire agreement, under which Hamas had originally agreed to release 33 hostages in multiple batches in exchange for 1,904 Palestinian prisoners.

Defense Minister Israel Katz remarked, “I have instructed the IDF to prepare at the highest level of alert for any possible scenario in Gaza.”

Meanwhile, Trump, addressing reporters at the White House on Monday, indicated that the future of the ceasefire was “Israel’s decision.” He emphasized that if all hostages were not returned by the specified Saturday deadline, he would recommend canceling the deal, stating, “Let hell break out.” He insisted on the need for the hostages to be released collectively rather than in smaller, staggered numbers. When pressed for details on potential punitive measures, Trump reiterated his position that “all hell is going to break out,” hinting at forthcoming consequences for Hamas, adding, “These are sick people.”

Additionally, Trump previously proposed the notion of the US taking control of the Palestinian enclave, during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He envisioned transforming Gaza, which has suffered extensively from 15 months of conflict, into what he termed “the Riviera of the Middle East,” suggesting the relocation of Palestinians to neighboring Arab countries while the reconstruction occurs. He threatened to withhold aid from Jordan and Egypt unless they agreed to accept Palestinian refugees.

Bassem Naim, head of Hamas's political branch, condemned this plan as “ethnic cleansing” and a “crime against humanity” in an exclusive interview with RTN on Friday.
