Netanyahu Alleges Assassination Attempt by Hezbollah
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a stern warning to Iran and its affiliates after a drone attack targeted his vacation home, which he attributes to the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah.

On Saturday morning, three explosive-laden UAVs were seen approaching the coastal town of Caesarea in northern Israel. The Israel Defense Forces intercepted two of the drones, while a third detonated near Netanyahu's private residence. Fortunately, Netanyahu and his wife were not present during the incident, but there were casualties on the ground.

Although Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for the attack in Caesarea, the group announced new strikes on northern and central Israel on Saturday, as reported by Al Jazeera.

In a post on X, Netanyahu expressed his disapproval, stating, “The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake,” and emphasized that the assault “will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future.”

Netanyahu added, “I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil: anyone who tries to harm Israel’s citizens will pay a heavy price.” He reiterated his commitment to rescuing the remaining Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and facilitating the safe return of Israeli residents to areas near the Lebanese border, which have suffered from frequent Hezbollah attacks.

“Israel is determined to achieve all our war objectives and change the security reality in our region for generations to come,” he concluded.

Since October 2023, approximately 70,000 Israelis have been displaced due to Hezbollah assaults. The IDF has ramped up airstrikes in Lebanon over the past month, eliminating several top Hezbollah figures, including the group's longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah. Reports indicate that over 2,000 individuals have died as a result of Israeli strikes in Lebanon, as per the country's Health Ministry.

On Friday, Hezbollah declared that its military engagement with Israel had entered “a new and escalatory phase,” pledging to continue launching rockets and drones across the border in a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, where Israel has been conducting a prolonged campaign against Hamas.
