Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, mocked a statement from Alex Soros, the son of billionaire financier George Soros. This statement suggested that Americans would be “screwed” if another pandemic occurred, appearing to target Trump’s appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the next US health secretary.
On Monday, Soros expressed his concerns on X, stating that the plans presented by RFK Jr. for health agencies “could weaken a future pandemic response.”
“They are playing with fire! Americans will be screwed if there is another pandemic!” Alex Soros wrote.
Musk, a close ally of Donald Trump and a significant figure in the former president’s re-election efforts, responded with a quip referring to the pandemic as a “scamdemic.”
RFK Jr., known for his anti-vaccine stance and environmental advocacy, has vowed to overhaul the operations of US health agencies, asserting that the Food and Drug Administration’s approach has been detrimental to public health.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, RFK Jr. vocally opposed measures like lockdowns and mandatory vaccinations, suggesting they were more about power than genuine health concerns.
Among RFK Jr.’s current healthcare priorities include reassessing vaccine safety and addressing pollutants, additives, and chemicals he argues contribute to chronic diseases in the US. Opponents of his views argue that they conflict with established medical and scientific consensus.
