Missouri AG calls for investigation into Biden’s pardons

In a letter to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, Bailey alleged that “unelected staff” members from Biden's administration may have manipulated his mental state to advance what he described as “radical” policies without the president's full awareness. This assertion was made public in a post on X, where Bailey expressed, “I am demanding the DOJ investigate whether President Biden’s cognitive decline allowed unelected staff to push through radical policy without his knowing approval.” He further stated, “If true, these executive orders, pardons, and all other actions are unconstitutional and legally void.”
Bailey highlighted what he referred to as “the streak of extraordinary far-left orders purportedly issued by Biden” during his final months in office. His list included a pardon granted to Biden's son, Hunter, which was retroactive and contradicted Biden's previous vows not to intervene, as well as a claim about the Equal Rights Amendment's status within the US Constitution, which he deemed “legally frivolous.”
He argued, “There are profound reasons to suspect” that Biden was influenced by his staff, backing this by referencing comments from former and current US officials and a well-known Democratic fundraiser who had addressed concerns regarding the former president's cognitive capabilities.
Bailey noted that House Speaker Mike Johnson recently mentioned that Biden seemed unable to comprehend the orders he was signing, even confusing an energy export moratorium with a study authorization for those exports.
Lindy Li, a significant Democratic National Committee fundraiser, remarked last month that “the people who ran our country for the last four years” were Biden's staff, alongside his family, including his wife and son.
As of now, the DOJ has not responded to Bailey’s call for an investigation. Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, Biden faced scrutiny over his physical and mental acuity, ultimately leading to his decision to withdraw from the race under pressure from party members, particularly following his disappointing performance in a CNN debate with Trump earlier this June, just 100 days before the election.
