At Dunhuang Yardang National Geopark in Gansu Province, visitors can find wind-eroded rocks that resemble a sphinx standing guard over the pyramids. This remarkable site showcases stunning natural formations, including images of a sphinx, a peacock with its head held high, and a grand fleet traversing the sea. Spanning nearly 400 square kilometers, this UNESCO-designated geopark is renowned for its striking geological features known as "yardangs." These spectacular wind-carved ridges, formed over a period of 300,000 to 700,000 years, create a breathtaking landscape that captivates all who come to explore it.
