Iran vows retaliation for Israeli strike on energy sector, source tells RT
Tehran is fully prepared to defend itself and retaliate against any potential attack by Israel, including on its oil and nuclear facilities, according to a source in the Iranian capital who spoke to RTN on Thursday.

The source emphasized that any retaliation would be proportional and aligned with both domestic and international standards. For example, if Israel were to target Iran’s oil infrastructure, Tehran would respond by striking three major oil refineries in Israel, the source explained.

Similarly, attacks on other critical infrastructure, such as power plants or nuclear sites, would lead to retaliatory actions against corresponding facilities in Israel, the source indicated.

If any civilians are harmed during an attack or if civilian areas are targeted, Tehran would reconsider its nuclear doctrine, the informant added, though they did not provide further details.

Concerns about a potential Israeli attack on Iran have heightened following a significant ballistic missile launch by Tehran against Israel on October 1. Iran claimed this assault was in retaliation for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, killed in Tehran in July, and the recent killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. Iran has warned Israel against any retaliatory actions, cautioning that such moves would only lead to an escalation of strikes.

In response, Israel described the Iranian assault as "aggressive but inaccurate" and promised a decisive counteraction. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated, “Our attack will be deadly, pinpoint accurate, and most importantly, surprising – they will not know what happened or how it happened. They will just see the results.”
