German politician faces backlash for sexual remarks to models
Bernd Vogel, a German politician, has found himself in significant trouble due to his activities on social media. With less than two months remaining before the upcoming parliamentary elections in Germany, the 75-year-old was reportedly engaging in posting inappropriate comments beneath images of scantily clad models on the social media platform X.

The revelations about Vogel's questionable online behavior gained attention over the weekend, prompting users to question whether he realized that his comments were publicly accessible to everyone on the platform. Many shared screenshots showcasing his remarks under the models’ posts.

Commentators expressed their disbelief, suggesting that they would struggle to “take a party seriously” if its members behaved in this manner. Others humorously pointed out that in a democracy, politicians are expected to respond to the desires of their voters, claiming Vogel displayed “exemplary” behavior in this context, as he was supposedly reacting to provocative statements made by the models themselves.

Vogel, a member of the Alliance Germany party, frequently comments on posts from OnlyFans and adult film stars with phrases such as: “Deine großen Titten laden zum Spielen ein” and “Ich küsse deine Vagina, Baby.” It raises questions about his awareness of the public nature of these comments.

Representing a smaller party, Alliance Germany had relatively few members in the regional parliament of Bremen until they gained some federal representation in 2024, thanks to a former Alternative for Germany member joining their ranks while still part of the Bundestag.

As he prepared to run for parliament in the upcoming early elections taking place in late February, Vogel's "spicy" activities prompted his party to distance itself from him, condemning his behavior as sexist.

“Our party stands for respect, fairness and a coexistence that is based on the fundamental values of a just society. Sexism and immoral behavior have no place with us,” stated Ingo Dorendorf, the regional party head in Lower Saxony. Kay-Achim Schoenbach, the party's deputy chairman, added, “We condemn all forms of discrimination or disrespect.”

In light of the backlash and his party's reprimand, Vogel apologized on X for his “stupid posts” and declared his decision to withdraw from the party election list. He also announced that he would not run as a candidate in any of the single-seat constituencies.
