Former PM says British ‘deep state’ requires a Musk-style overhaul
Liz Truss has advocated for a “Trump revolution” in Britain, alleging that her government was undermined during her short time in office.

The former British Prime Minister asserted that the UK requires a movement akin to Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA), calling for an assessment of the British ‘deep state’ similar to the initiatives proposed by Elon Musk.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington on Wednesday, Truss criticized unelected bureaucrats for sabotaging her administration and blocking reforms that reflect voter desires. Serving as prime minister for just 49 days in 2022, she contends that the establishment hindered her ability to execute economic changes, despite having public backing. “The same people are still making the decisions. It’s the deep state, it’s the unelected bureaucrats, it’s the judiciary,” she stated.

Truss praised Trump’s attempts to transform the US government, expressing that the British populace seeks comparable reforms. “We want ‘drill, baby, drill’. We want men banned from women’s bathrooms and women’s sports. We want illegal immigrants deported,” she articulated.

She concluded by declaring, “We want a Trump revolution in Britain,” also referencing Elon Musk’s collaboration with the US government to oversee and streamline federal spending. “We want to flood the zone. We want Elon and his nerd-army of Muskrats examining the British deep state!” she added.

Truss held the position of UK prime minister from September 6 to October 25, 2022, marking the shortest tenure in British history. Her government introduced a mini-budget that led to significant market disruption, a plummet in the pound, and investor anxiety, resulting in a rebellion within her party and her resignation after merely seven weeks in office.

Since his recent inauguration, Trump has been actively working to cut federal spending through the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency. On Wednesday, he revealed plans to potentially return 20% of the savings identified to US taxpayers in the form of “DOGE dividends,” an initiative that could equate to approximately $5,000 per household.
