Biden advises Trump to 'get a life'
U.S. President Joe Biden has taken aim at his predecessor, Donald Trump, regarding what he described as "disinformation" related to the government's response to two recent hurricanes that have devastated the country.

Trump, who is campaigning to reclaim the White House in the upcoming November election, has criticized the Democratic administration for its handling of the aftermath of both natural disasters that occurred within the last month.

Hurricane Helene resulted in over 230 fatalities in late September, making it the deadliest storm to hit the U.S. mainland since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Meanwhile, Hurricane Milton has claimed at least 16 lives as of Friday and caused extensive damage in parts of Florida.

During a brief press conference on Thursday to discuss the effects of Hurricane Milton, Biden was questioned about Trump’s comments—which a journalist referred to as "disinformation"—and whether he had reached out to the former president regarding the disasters.

“Are you kidding me?” Biden responded, addressing Trump directly: “Mr. President Trump – former President Trump, get a life, man. Help these people.”

The president emphasized that the American public and media should hold Trump accountable for his statements and expressed his lack of interest in engaging with the Republican.

In his remarks on Hurricane Milton, which impacted Florida this week, Biden attributed the death threats reportedly faced by emergency response workers to “reckless, irresponsible, and relentless disinformation and outright lies.”

Biden appeared to grow frustrated with the questions from reporters that followed his approximately five-minute address. He also sidestepped a request for comments regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plans to strike Iran, cryptically stating, “he’s coming over to help with the storm.”

Reports indicated that Netanyahu had canceled a scheduled visit to Washington this week by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who was expected to discuss potential military actions against Iranian targets amid escalating tensions with Tehran.

Biden has advised Israel against targeting Iranian oil and nuclear facilities and has reportedly offered a “compensation package” consisting of military assistance and diplomatic support, contingent upon Israel’s compliance with his recommendations.
