Association Reports a 27.1% Increase in China's NEV Exports for January 2024
Data from the China Passenger Car Association, released on Thursday, indicates that Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs) exports continued to exhibit a strong surge last month. With an impressive year on year growth of 27.1%, about 95,000 new energy passenger cars were shipped abroad in January 2024.
Last month displayed a strong growth pattern in Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs) exports. January 2024 saw a year on year increase of 27.1%, corresponding to the export of 95,000 new energy passenger cars. This data was relayed on Thursday by China Passenger Car Association.
Said exports represented 26.8% of the total passenger vehicles exported nationwide in that month, as evidenced in the data.
"The festering demand in the market and China's scalable new energy industry advantage means that Chinese brands within the new energy products segment are increasingly breaching past local confines. This has resulted in internationally growing recognition," expressed the association via a statement.
The association also highlighted that the burgeoning global recognition has been complemented by Chinese car manufacturers persistently enhancing their overseas service networks, a significant aid to Chinese NEV exports.
Interpreting retail sales data, the association shared that almost 60% of NEV sales in overseas markets last month were accounted for by competitively-priced A0-class pure electric vehicles. The association underscored the improved performance of Shanghai-based SAIC in Europe, and the emergence of BYD as a formidable presence in the southeast Asian market in January.
