Anna Belkina: RT will stay put
The recent allegations from the US State Department come as no surprise. Observing their increasingly paranoid responses is almost amusing. Since its inception nearly 20 years ago, RT has been committed to its role as a journalist, informing audiences worldwide about stories and perspectives that mainstream media often overlooks. Throughout this period, the Western establishment has persistently sought to eliminate RT.

Reflecting on history, in 1962, then-US President John F. Kennedy stated: “We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

The allegations recently put forth by the US government about RT over the last two weeks highlight the opposite sentiment—they reveal a deep-seated fear of dissenting voices. They seem anxious that such perspectives could resonate not only within the US but also in various parts of the globe. The desire to monopolize information and narratives is apparent.

However, RT remains resolute; we are not going anywhere. Our mission continues as we seek innovative ways to engage audiences in every corner of the planet.
