Vance claims his daughter was 'scared' by pro-Ukraine protesters
US Vice President J.D. Vance reported that a group of vocal pro-Ukrainian protesters confronted him on the street, causing his young daughter to feel frightened.

Vance had previously angered supporters of Ukraine when he and President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office last month.

“Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance shared on X on Saturday.

He attempted to engage with the protesters, hoping that a brief exchange would lead to them leaving his child alone. “It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a sh*t person,” he commented.

This incident is not the first instance of Vance facing opposition from supporters of Ukraine. Over the weekend, numerous individuals displayed pro-Kiev signs along the route that Vance and his family were expected to take while heading to a ski trip in Vermont.

During a contentious exchange in the White House on February 28, Vance criticized Zelensky, suggesting he was ungrateful for the military and financial aid provided by the US since 2022. Following this, Trump recently suspended weapon deliveries and limited intelligence sharing, asserting that Zelensky was not adequately responsive to his attempts at brokering a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

On Friday, Trump expressed to reporters that he found it “more difficult” to negotiate with Ukraine than with Russia and reiterated that Ukraine did not “have the cards” to make demands in negotiations.
