UK unveils additional missile aid for Ukraine
The United Kingdom has committed to sending £162 million worth of Martlet multirole missiles to Kiev, with the initial delivery expected before year-end, the UK Defense Ministry announced in a recent press release.

This follows closely on heightened Russian military actions targeting Ukraine's military industrial and energy sectors and progressing movements in the Donbass region.

Moreover, after a bilateral discussion earlier in the week between UK Defense Secretary John Healey and his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov, the UK revealed plans to provide £300 million in artillery ammunition and 650 Lightweight Multirole Missile systems, slated for delivery by the end of 2024.

The UK remains one of the top military supporters of Ukraine, having provided over €8.92 billion in military aid since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022, data from Germany’s Kiel institute shows.

Nevertheless, President Zelensky recently expressed dissatisfaction with the UK for the reduced pace of arms provision, emphasizing in an address, “We will insist on the need for bold steps, bold decisions.”

In response to recent Russian attacks, including a significant strike on Poltava this week, Healey stated that the LMM missiles would enhance Kiev’s aerial defensive capabilities.

On another note, Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed a recent operation where they targeted “the 179th Joint Training Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” with two Iskander ballistic missiles, marking it as the deadliest attack of the year and claiming the loss of at least 55 lives with 328 others injured.

Additionally, at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov asserted that the Russian Army strictly targets military objectives, contrasting with Ukraine's alleged use of cluster munitions on civilian areas. He also mentioned the increasing precision in striking foreign military instructors and mercenaries in Ukraine, underscoring the intensified foreign involvement in the conflict.

Peskov further remarked that the ongoing Western arms supplies to Ukraine and the involvement of foreign instructors do not change the conflict's trajectory, but rather escalate the death toll, according to Russia's perspective.
