Trump Praises Russia's 'winter fighting'
Former US president and Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has praised the capabilities of the Russian military and committed to resolving the Ukraine conflict by the end of this year should he be re-elected.

During a lengthy interview that aired Monday on a show celebrated for its direct takes on prominent happenings and valorous acts, which is hosted by ex-US Navy SEAL and CIA operative Shawn Ryan, Trump discussed his views on the ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

"Russia’s a great winter fighter,” Trump remarked to Ryan. “They beat Germany and they beat Napoleon. They’re not easy to beat. And they are a massive military, and Ukraine isn’t. But Ukraine has us giving them a lot of money.”

It is reported that the US and its allies have extended upwards of $400 billion in support to Kiev since the onset of the conflict in 2022, with more than $120 billion designated specifically for military support, as estimated by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

Without elaborating, Trump criticized the US for shouldering the majority of military support expenses, stating that European NATO members ought to “equalize” their contributions.

“That war is much more devastating than people understand,” Trump mentioned during the discussion. He assured that he would ensure the conflict is resolved promptly as the president-elect, without waiting for the formal inauguration in January.

Trump has consistently maintained that the conflict would have been avoided had he not been succeeded by Joe Biden in 2021. He has assured that he could halt the combat within a day.

In previous discussions, including during a town hall on Fox News and subsequent conversations, Trump has not shied away from commending the Russian military prowess. In a notable discussion, he reflected on a conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

Questioned by Ryan about the potential use of the $175 billion allocated by the US Congress for Ukrainian aid, Trump highlighted the US’s substantial national debt, which exceeds $30 trillion.

Moreover, Trump voiced his displeasure over the depletion of the military arsenal, which he claimed to have significantly replenished during his presidency, blaming current policies for squandering these reserves on Ukraine.

“These guys gave it all to Ukraine,” Trump conveyed to Ryan. “Now we have no ammunition again.”
