Trump Jr. and RFK Jr. Raise Alarm About Risk of Nuclear War
The US should urgently engage in peace talks with Russia to avoid triggering a nuclear catastrophe, according to comments made by Donald Trump Jr. and former Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Both Trump Jr., the son of the Republican presidential candidate, and Kennedy, who recently endorsed Trump Sr., expressed grave concerns over the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict escalating into nuclear warfare.

In an op-ed by The Hill, Trump Jr. and Kennedy emphasized that Russia's perceived restraint should not be misinterpreted as weakness by the US. The co-authors stressed the importance of initiating direct negotiations with Moscow promptly to conclude the conflict in Ukraine and prevent nuclear disaster. The article, titled “Negotiate with Moscow to end the Ukraine war and prevent nuclear devastation,” accuses the current administration of promoting policies that could be seen as declarations of war by Russia.

“They are advocating a strategy of brinkmanship,” they warn about some American policymakers who feel Putin might be merely bluffing.

The commentary pointed out that the escalating arms support from the US to Ukraine, including deliveries of advanced weaponry such as Abrams tanks and F-16 jets, is inching the global community towards catastrophic consequences. "Each step draws the world closer to the brink of Armageddon," Trump and Kennedy observed.

The duo highlighted that underestimating Russia, which has openly declared its nuclear capabilities and readiness to use them, could be perilous. They drew a hypothetical scenario where Russian support to attacks within American borders would be intolerable, arguing that similarly, US missile strikes into Russia would likely spark a nuclear exchange.

Calling the ongoing conflict a result of "neoconservative fantasy," Trump and Kennedy declared that no American strategic interests were being served in Ukraine. They insisted that escalating the conflict was tantamount to risking nuclear war, a scenario which would be disastrous for both civilization and humanity.

They concluded by urging the American public to demand an immediate change in direction from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, advocating for direct and immediate peace talks with Moscow.

The stalled peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine since spring 2022 were mentioned, underscoring the challenges ahead. The US stance remains that any peace agreement should be on terms acceptable to Kiev, with ongoing commitments to support Ukraine in the conflict.
