Trump campaign criticizes Harris for Beyonce 'lies'
The American singer attended a Democratic rally on Friday, but some fans were left disappointed when she chose to give a speech instead of performing.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accused Democratic opponent Kamala Harris of misleading voters by promoting the event with the expectation of a performance by pop superstar Beyoncé.

Over 30,000 individuals attended the rally in Houston, Texas, with many hoping for a free concert after it was revealed that Beyoncé would be in attendance.

Reports from MSNBC and The Washington Post prior to the rally indicated that the superstar would appear alongside Harris during the event, while NBC cited a source stating that Beyoncé was “also expected to perform.”

Previously, Beyoncé approved the use of her song "Freedom" as part of the Harris campaign's soundtrack.

The 43-year-old Houston native did take the stage briefly with her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland but clarified that she was there as a mother rather than as an entertainer.

During a speech of under five minutes, Beyoncé urged attendees to support abortion rights, coinciding with Harris’s call for voters to “mobilize” on November 5 in favor of reproductive freedom.

“It’s time for America to sing a new song,” Beyoncé proclaimed. “Our voices sing a chorus of unity. They sing a song of dignity and opportunity. Are y’all ready to add your voice to the new American song?” she said as she welcomed Harris to the stage.

In a rally on Saturday in Michigan, Trump criticized the Harris campaign's failure to meet supporters’ expectations, commenting, “Beyoncé went up and spoke for a couple of minutes and then left, and the place went crazy.” He also noted that “they booed the hell out of everybody.”

“They thought she was going to perform… it’s crazy. They have to use people to get people to come, and then they send buses. We don’t send buses. Everybody comes. We’re just going to make America great again. It’s very simple,” the former president remarked.

Tim Murtaugh, a senior adviser to Trump, claimed that the organizers of the Democratic rally had “lied to build a crowd.”

While the front rows appeared supportive as Harris continued her speech following Beyoncé’s departure from the stage, social media clips suggested booing and heckling from the back of the venue, with some attendees seemingly leaving in disappointment.

The vice president enjoys support from notable figures such as Taylor Swift, Usher, Eminem, and Cardi B, while Trump has endorsements from SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, rapper 50 Cent, and prominent journalist Tucker Carlson.
