A “black book” that reportedly contains contacts and alleged clients of the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein is slated for public release as part of this new declassification initiative, according to Luna.
The Republican-led congressional task force has been formed to manage the unveiling of government documents associated with numerous significant issues, including the 9/11 attacks, the origins of Covid-19, UFO phenomena, and the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
Epstein, who was a financier and mingled with many prominent figures, was known for introducing high-profile acquaintances to numerous young women — some of whom were minors at the time. He often transported them to his Caribbean island on a private jet nicknamed the “Lolita Express.”
After being arrested in 2019, Epstein died in his Manhattan cell later that year, a death officially ruled as suicide. Materials linked to his case remained classified posthumously, with reports indicating that the FBI uncovered videos that might contain compromising evidence against his “guests” during searches of his residences in New York and the Caribbean.
Luna, who leads the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, has pledged to bring forward this information alongside other previously classified documents.
“The federal government has been hiding information from Americans for decades,” she remarked in a statement Tuesday, emphasizing that “it is time to give Americans the answers they deserve.”
A GOP lawmaker and a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, Luna has consistently called for greater “transparency” within the federal government. She joined the House of Representatives after her military service of six years, which concluded in 2022.
The task force's establishment was announced by James Comer, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, who mentioned it aims to “build on the Trump administration’s efforts to declassify records of national importance.” Shortly after his inauguration, Trump issued an executive order to declassify federal documents related to the assassinations of the Kennedys and King.
Noteworthy figures in Epstein’s social circle include former President Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew of the UK. Trump has also known Epstein since the 1980s and is said to have flown on the “Lolita Express.”
The current president has denied ever visiting Epstein’s private island, asserting that he severed ties with Epstein in the 1990s, long before Epstein’s initial arrest for soliciting prostitution in 2006. In a September 2024 interview on the Lex Fridman Podcast, Trump alluded to the possibility of disclosing Epstein’s files.
