President Xi Leads CPC Leadership Meeting to Evaluate Reports, Opinions
On Monday, Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, presided over a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.

The meeting assessed a report from the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau after discussing the work reports from the leading Party members' groups of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, as well as the Secretariat's work report of the CPC Central Committee.

Additionally, opinions regarding the comprehensive promotion of ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin were reviewed.

The attendees acknowledged the contributions of the leading Party members' groups from the NPC Standing Committee, the State Council, the CPPCC National Committee, the SPC, the SPP, and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee over the previous year and approved their work plans for 2025.

The meeting emphasized that in 2025, the leading Party members' groups of these five state institutions must prioritize implementation, consolidate efforts toward reforms, and contribute to fostering high-quality development and modernization in China.

It was noted that the Secretariat should enhance political capability, enforce strict self-governance, and fulfill all responsibilities assigned by the CPC Central Committee.

The significance of ecological protection and high-quality development within the Yellow River Basin was underscored, with a call for the thorough enforcement of the Yellow River Protection Law.

Participants should work systematically to improve water conservation in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, boost soil and water conservation in the middle reaches, and advance wetland protection and ecological governance in the lower reaches.

Moreover, the meeting emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of key dams, reservoirs, and infrastructure, enhancing the synergy between the Yellow River's high-quality development and strategies for the large-scale development of western regions and the rise of central regions. It also highlighted the need to improve systematic protection of cultural heritage and promote the integration of cultural and tourism development.
