Media Reports: Man Detained for Allegedly Threatening to Kill Trump
Manuel Tamayo-Torres has been accused of posting threatening videos “on a near-daily basis,” according to reports.

U.S. federal authorities have arrested an Arizona man for allegedly threatening to kill President-elect Donald Trump and his family, as reported by ABC News on Wednesday, referencing charging documents.

Tamayo-Torres, who resides in Arizona, was apprehended in San Diego, California, on Monday following a series of videos he posted on Facebook. One notable video, uploaded on November 13, featured him brandishing an AR-15-style rifle while making threats against a specific individual and his family.

This particular video has since been removed from the internet. In the court documents, the name of the alleged target is redacted and labeled as “Individual 1.” The threats toward “Individual 1” and his family were characterized as “vague yet direct.”

According to ABC News, sources familiar with the investigation have confirmed that “Individual 1” refers to Donald Trump.

In another video uploaded on Facebook on November 21, Tamayo-Torres allegedly stated, “You’re gonna die. Your son’s gonna die. Your whole family is going to die. ... I’m going to put a hole in your face.”

Investigators noted in the charging documents that Tamayo-Torres posted “numerous” videos “on a near-daily basis” over several months, making claims that “Individual 1” had kidnapped and sex-trafficked his children. However, it remains unclear whether Tamayo-Torres has any children.

Among the videos he shared, one featured footage from a Trump campaign rally at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona, on August 23, where he claimed to have witnessed “Individual 1” and Secret Service agents kidnapping his daughter.

In addition to the charges related to threatening a president or president-elect, Tamayo-Torres faces multiple counts of making false statements on federal forms while attempting to purchase a gun last year. He allegedly claimed he had no felony history, despite being convicted of assault in 2003 and being legally barred from possessing firearms.

Donald Trump narrowly escaped death during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in July when a bullet fired from approximately 150 meters away grazed his ear. The shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, was killed by the Secret Service. Additionally, another alleged assassin, Ryan Routh, was arrested in September after attempting to ambush Trump at a golf course in Florida.
